क्रीडतु जगत्Let the world play
Paṭṭ Krīḍā is made by Vagambhrini — a small studio with one purpose: to carry the living heritage of Bhārat to a new generation, joyfully and truthfully.
Our mission
So much of what our ancestors knew was never written in a book — it was played. In the games drawn in courtyard dust, in the stories told at bedtime, in the puzzles carved into temple steps, a whole way of thinking was quietly passed from hand to hand. Some of those threads are thinning. Vagambhrini exists to keep them alive — not behind glass in a museum, but in a child's hands, delighted.
We build with modern craft — beautiful art, gentle animation, honest design — but we let the tradition lead. Every game keeps its true rules and its own regional name. Nothing is flattened into a generic "classic." The joy has to be real, and so does the root.
What we make
Paṭṭ Krīḍā gathers the great folk board games of Bhārat — the tiger-and-goat hunt (Bāgh-Bakri, Puli Meka), three-in-a-row capture games (Dahḍī, Kaṭā Kaṭī), war games, and solitaire puzzles — each with living mascots drawn from our itihāsa, warm festival art, and friends to play against near and far. It is free, ad-free, and tracker-free, and it plays offline.
Play the real thing, too
A screen is a wonderful doorway, but nothing beats a wooden board and real gotis on the floor with your family. We're proud to point you to friends who craft and sell the physical games — please support them:
